Mission Accomplished!

Doesn’t it feel great when your meet your goals?

Today was my 75th bike commute to work for 2010, which was one of my New Year’s resolutions.   I have to admit I have the ideal situation for biking to work as the office is only 3.2 miles away but still many days it would have been much easier to put the keys in the ignition rather that bundle up for a bike ride.  But what’s the expression?  It’s the difficult path we chose in life that builds character, I’m horrible with quotes but it’s something like that.

75 days of bicycling –

480 total miles

Around $120 worth of fuel savings or $264 using IRS mileage

No health club dues

Lot of intangible miles logged – since I work so close to home, when I do drive to work, many days I’ll run home for lunch.

Hope everyone reading this continues to set and MEET their personal goals.

I swear I turn away for two seconds and you’re up to some new crazy scheme to better yourself that I had no idea about. Nice work.

Thanks Beth, you’re more of an inspiration to me than you know; running marathons, getting up and running at the cabin, etc. You’re a champ!

I was hesitant to make this post because it’s fairly random (I think Wendy made the comment that she did sign up to “Dirty’s Dealing’s” to receive motivational crap! Although, truth be told I’m not sure why anyone signed up?) But I figured if even one person read this and thought of something they’ve been putting off and made and conscience effort to make a change than it was worthwhile.

And just so you’re not caught off guard, my next scheme is to take the FE (fundamentals of engineering) exam on April 9th. Mainly so Luke can’t call me an “engineer.” 🙂
